29th Annual Meeting of the CIRMS April 11-13, 2022 ▪ Virtual Meeting

Please save the date for the next CIRMS annual meeting which will be held virtually (online only). The CIRMS annual meeting provides a public forum for discussion of radiation measurements and standards issues for stakeholders in industry, academia, and government.

The technical program will consist of oral presentations, virtual poster sessions, and working group sessions organized by the three subcommittees:

Medical Applications: diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy, proton therapy nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, radiobiology, physical and computational phantoms, radiation transport simulations, 3D printing, and more

Radiation Protection and Homeland Security: advances in detection instrumentation, emergency response, nuclear events, radiochemistry, waste analysis, personnel dosimetry, electronic dosimeters, bioassay and internal dosimetry, environmental dosimetry, first responder needs, and more

Industrial Applications and Materials Effects: dosimetry for radiation processing, material effects, space applications, food irradiation and sterilization, irradiators, low dose standards, safety at radiation facilities, ASTM standards, and more

Submission Deadline: Feburary 25, 2022 (extended deadline)
For best consideration for oral presentation submit by January 28, 2022 (extended deadline)

We invite you to submit an abstract for a virtual oral or virtual poster presentation. Submitted abstracts will undergo peer review coordinated by the Executive Committee Members. Authors will be notified of acceptance and will be required to register for the conference. Abstracts should not exceed 350 words and should be created using the general abstract template.

Please email the abstracts to with the subject line “CIRMS 2022 Abstract: [Name of Corresponding Author].” In your email please indicate your preference for a virtual oral or virtual poster presentation. If your abstract is not accepted for a virtual oral presentation it will automatically be considered for a virtual poster presentation.


Submission Deadline: February 25, 2022 (extended deadline)

The program is open to any student or trainee from high school through postgraduate (i.e. within one year of terminal master’s or doctoral degree). Young investigators will submit essays describing their work and its relevance to the CIRMS mission which will then be scored by members of the CIRMS Executive Committee and the Caswell Fellows. Top-scoring essays will be invited to give a short virtual oral presentation at the annual meeting and also receive a monetary prize. Those who are not awarded will be invited to present a virtual poster at the meeting. All authors will be notified of acceptance and will be required to register for the conference. Essays should not exceed 1000 words and should be created using the junior investigator essay template.
